This was a good year for you on the field. You moved up to Haslett's 8U squad with coach Bailey and Coach Chamberlain, who Dad played Pop Warner Football with. Other standout players on the team were Adam, Connor, and Kayle. Anyway, you played 2nd base primarily and was the lead off man for your team. You guys played in the U10 league and finished 3rd place and you also won the Haslett Diamond Days Tournament on Father's Day weekend over Grand Ledge U8.
You caught a few semi-ridiculous diving ground balls in the title game vs GL and had some clutch hitting to make up for the prior week's title game loss in their tournament to Hartland. More on that later. This was maybe the best Father's Day your Dad ever had, because you win, and well, look at your face! Lol! Happy right? Keep winning buddy.
The week before you guys got beat in the first round of Grand Ledge's tournament on the river by Hartland. They smashed you guys early in the morning and you and I stayed the night out at the Best Western just east of Grand ledge, where you swam in the pool and stuff. We also went to Funtyme in Grand Ledge so you could hit in the cage.
The next day you guys went on a tear, and made it to the Championship game where you held a lead but lost to Hartland. You were crushed and you didn't even want the 2nd place trophy. LOLOLOL!!
Sorry son, but who does that? Winners that's who. :). Pics and highlights below...

It was hard seeing you lose like this though, but honestly you played better in this tournament than you did in the one you guys won, and you played great in that one. You hit like a crazy man and played great in the field. You didn't want to hear that though so we took a walk on the River and looked for snakes to cheer you up.

At the end of the summer we also took our yearly trip "home" to Chicago. We went to see the struggling Cubbies of course and they got smashed by the Braves on their way to winning the NL East. The good news is, it was a beautiful day, and you got to run the bases...

You wanted to sit in the outfield so I put you in a headlock |
This was a great year overall for you. Your hit .488 with a .646 OBP and .777 fielding pct. Every missed ground ball was a routine, ho-hum play. From the right side of the plate you went 12-25 and form the left side you went 10-20. You tended to walk a lot from that side and overall. You had 23 runs, 2 2Bs and 5 RBI from the top of the lineup. This was through 37 games. One thing I stress with you is maintaining balance between hitting right and left, so it's good that you were virtually equal with both. Til next year, keep chasing your dreams lil man!
